This zine comprises a series of articles that appeared in Black Seed #3 in the Spring of 2015, an irregularly produced green-anarchy journal. These articles came from participants in what has become known as la ZAD, a rather large years-long forest occupation in France that sprung up in resistance to the construction of an airport. They have been reprinted here with the recent land occupations, re-occupations and communes of the so-called U.S.A. in mind; the Oakland Commune, Standing Rock, the countless tree-sits, Camp White Pine, Camp Cloud, Makwa Camp and the Olympia Commune, to name only a few. While the territory known as France may be far away and the dynamics seemingly much different, what’s important are the similarities and the idea that there is so much more to learn about ourselves and from each other when we are able to break the chains of capitalism and colonialism and live with each other and the land.
